about us
Thalassophile -
A lover of the sea or Ocean, like a modern-day mermaid/merman.
Origin: Greek
Yes, we can definitely say that Brenda Bueno and Bob Thomas were both inspired by the beaches and the waves of the seas. Brenda spent her childhood years on her Fathers boat and would end her days with the freshest catch of the day wrapped in a tortilla. Bob didn't grow up in Miami however he did spent a few years there.
The coolest thing about their story is that Bob picked up worked helping Brenda's father refinish a schooner boat named "The Reel." Can we say destiny?
In 2011, Bob moved back in Miami and thats when Brenda and Bob crossed paths and feel in love. Brenda managed a organic farm serving the locals and Bob opened up a Tavern called the White Sail providing boats and fishing services for the locals.
In 2013, a storm almost wiped out Bobs tavern fleet and was in danger of sinking. With Brenda's help she used her dad's boat "The Reel" saving Bob's business.
With the memories they both shared with the Reel, the fish, and the ocean it inspired them both to create Reel Deal Taco Food Truck.
Today you can find Reel Deal Taco Truck in the heart of San Diego bringing you the freshest catch and locally grown produce of Southern California. Stop by and get a taste of the reel-ist deals.
